Dandruff Causes and
Treatment
Itching and excessive
flaking of the scalp are the
indications of dandruff. To
have dandruff is so much
embarrassing.
Dandruff is tiny particle of
dead skin of the scalp. As
human whole body surface
constantly drops dead skin
cells, Shedding of dead skin
of the scalp at an excessive
rate is Dandruff. In the
dandruff scalp, there may be
mass disorder and often the
departing cells are not dead
before leaving the scalp.
Signs and symptoms

actually causes this
condition.
Causes for dandruff may be

internal and external as

Poor hygienic conditions
Hypersensitive allergies
Inadequate rest
too much intake of sugar and
fats
poor nutritious
heredity
External causes for dandruff
Too much practicing of hair
sprays and gels
Excessive use of
hair-coloring products,
curling irons etc…
Weather cold or dry
Mental stress tension and
anxiety.
Treatment
The chronic conditions of
dandruff may be controlled
with regular cleansing with
a gentle shampoo.
If regular shampoos fail to
remove dandruff, OTC
dandruff shampoos may be
succeeding. But one requires
keeping on experimenting
until one finds best working
dandruff shampoo. Dandruff
shampoos are classified as
follows,

Zinc
pyrithione shampoos (Suave
Dandruff Control Shampoo,
Head & Shoulders).
- antibacterial and
antifungal.

Tar-based shampoos
(Neutrogena T/Gel, Tegrin).
Coal tar.

Salicylic acid containing
shampoos (Ionil T).

Selenium sulfide shampoos
(Selsun, Exsel).

Ketoconazole shampoos (Nizoral).

ketoconazole is a
broad-spectrum antifungal
agent.
Try using one of these
shampoos daily until your
dandruff is controlled, then
cut back to two or three
times a week. Use above
shampoos after consulting
dermatologist.
